I tried to reach out to the builder of the Converter, but does anyone else know if there may be a way to use midi with the MagicStomp? Thanks guys! MaxTwang Senior Member. There might have been a 2nd Yamaha utility required also. The MIDI implementation was quite daunting as the effects are very diverse with very complex parameter sets. You can Google MagicStomp USB midi and you'll find some old threads on editors as well as links to the old drivers which may not work with newer systems.

The first time I put it in I could not get it to play at all I would get to the very end only to find out the drivers that I installed, never got installed. I'm not a whiz with computers, but I've installed enough software to know somethings not right here.

You have to go to the setup dialog after running the app. Then tell it that you want to use the Yamaha USB for the mid device. Have you checked you control panel sound dialog and see if the Yamaha USB Midi driver shows up under the midi devices?
